Stagnant Waters
Like a new born cut from its mother
you took your love from me gave it to another
now a fiery pain burns me inside
the only waters of love are the tears I have cried
my friends tell me I've got to move on
but I'm better off dead now that you've gone
I can't sleep for all the memories of you
your voice saying I love you now I know it was never true
I hear the rain on the roof for a moment the pain calms
now all I need is your warmth in my arms
stroke your soft hair from your beautiful face
baby I still love you no one could take your place
the last time I held you I shouldn't have let go
I wanted to tell you how much I loved you
but now you will never know.
you took your love from me gave it to another
now a fiery pain burns me inside
the only waters of love are the tears I have cried
my friends tell me I've got to move on
but I'm better off dead now that you've gone
I can't sleep for all the memories of you
your voice saying I love you now I know it was never true
I hear the rain on the roof for a moment the pain calms
now all I need is your warmth in my arms
stroke your soft hair from your beautiful face
baby I still love you no one could take your place
the last time I held you I shouldn't have let go
I wanted to tell you how much I loved you
but now you will never know.
