Can you tell me why it sounded the way it did?

Yes, I know we love each other

No, I don’t plan on doing anything

What’s wrong with a contingency plan?

Yes, we can be adults

No, I never want to stop knowing you

Did no-one ever tell you that adults aren’t mature?
Because
Yes, bad things happen
And
No, I don’t want to think about it either
But
What if I mess up to the point you can’t even look at me?
Because
Yes, I know you trust me

No, I have no faith in myself
But
Haven’t I pointed out how nasty I am?

Without sounding too technical, I like the format of your poem. I like how you let your reader know exactly what you are thinking about without letting him know in regards to exactly what you are talking about. Did that make sense kuz I am confusing myself. Anyhow, I did like your poem, nice.
