Red tear drops
Red tear drops wither down the inside of my wrist
Bypassing veins throb rudely outwards
Threatening to burst out of my paper-thin skin
The pain clears the fog that has settled into my thoughts
Dampening my progress and dragging it to hell
To feed to the poor, long-lost souls down there
They need it more than I do.
Maybe I'll become one of them,
clawing at their cursed eyes
Because the sunlight is suddenly too mocking
In its illuminated view of opinion
How dare it preach about good and evil,
When it slinks away at the sight of moonlight
Bringing the shadow screamers out to play
Ambushing you with memories,
shrieking till your mind
Shuts down to protect your
emotions from going into flight
No one ever tries to fight anymore
No one is that foolish
I cut into my arm again
Red tear drops wither down
the inside of my wrist
Bypassing veins throb rudely outwards
Threatening to burst out of my paper-thin skin
The pain clears the fog that has settled into my thoughts
Dampening my progress and dragging it to hell
To feed to the poor, long-lost souls down there
They need it more than I do.
Maybe I'll become one of them,
clawing at their cursed eyes
Because the sunlight is suddenly too mocking
In its illuminated view of opinion
How dare it preach about good and evil,
When it slinks away at the sight of moonlight
Bringing the shadow screamers out to play
Ambushing you with memories,
shrieking till your mind
Shuts down to protect your
emotions from going into flight
No one ever tries to fight anymore
No one is that foolish
I cut into my arm again
Red tear drops wither down
the inside of my wrist
