The Shade
When i look back now its not so bad
You cannot lose what you never had
And though ill miss those tricky days
Something placed within me stays
Something deep within me prays
That time would just erase her face
A counterfeit kiss is sweet somedays
But always leaves a bitter taste
The time you feed into a lie
Will always end up as a waste
Sometimes we have to say goodbye
To keep up with lifes quickening pace
We can laugh at the mistakes we made
When lemmons turn to lemonade
and when the battle scars all fade
we'll toast our glasses in the shade.

You’ve captured the cruelty that slumbers in a love that’s half a lie. You seem to have bound it up in optimism and sent it on its way. Despite the pain of it, you still toasted to the lessons acquired by the shade. Nicely done.
