Image for the poem A Bliss under the Sun

A Bliss under the Sun

Lost in a pool of joys
I sought her gracious soul to thank

For in the tone of her voice
I found a way to the bank

Of beauty and goodness
Never once felt nor seen

But through her rare kindness
She wiped my dark heart clean

Before my hazy view
Stood her glowing face

To dry and clear all teary dew
Shedding the light of grace

The form of a pristine day
Arising with each new morning

Like the fair flowers of May
Spreading mid tidal blooming

I am learning the height of love
Amid a canopy of tall trees

With rays to search out and remove
Grim shades the eye doth sees

Leaving a spark most brightest star
So the flames of love would burn

Tangled with a heart so dear
I savor a bliss under the sun
