radiation poisoning
I absorb the heat radiating off of you skin
(the physical manifestation of your adoration)
suck it up into my system
like you suck up the cum
emptying out of my body
that you conjured with your frictional magic
I am poisoned by my own lust for you
you are impregnated with my dead seed
after this primal act of connection
we find ourselves to the bathroom
I slit your throat
then my own
we hold each other as we bleed out
in the corner of the shower stale
hot water and steam
further inviting the blood
until we are both empty
first of want
then of life
we fall into the black abyss of unconsiousness
we're found a day later
still in each other's arm
warm water now running cold
naked bodies pale as the ghosts we've become
heads down
backs against the tile wall
eyes closed
and throats open
our suicide pact
our final devotion
(the physical manifestation of your adoration)
suck it up into my system
like you suck up the cum
emptying out of my body
that you conjured with your frictional magic
I am poisoned by my own lust for you
you are impregnated with my dead seed
after this primal act of connection
we find ourselves to the bathroom
I slit your throat

we're found a day later

Wow. Even after I've told myself that you can no longer shock me, that I've seen it all and you've perhaps played your hand, you turn those notions on their head. I was truly stunned at the sudden burst of violence in the second stanza, and as usual you mingle love and darkness (which are unavoidably connected anyway, some would argue) with consummate skill and subtle but abrasive beauty. I loved loved loved the second line, as well as the one about "frictional magic".

yeah I've been writing a lot about love/lust but I was inspired to write something violent.. actually it was initially inspired by one of priya's new one.. a few lines something about seeping into pores.. and it turned into this.. I wasn't planning on making it violent at first.. glad you think I still have it and can still pull another ace out of my sleeve and fuck with ya lol thanks man

it so beautifully, the violence that spurts suddenly has that tight slap effect, im realy moved by this nathan, im every time mazed how easily you blur the barriers between the tender n the terrible. The mention of the dead seed and the secondline Jack has already mentioned make this an imensely moving piece , nathan, im so happy that , a bit in one of my poems inspired this gem:)

yeah you inspired me a bit hehe.. for the first paragraph.. which was all it was going to be.. but the words had their own agenda.. and pushed me further.. so I followed :) thank you for the read and the kind comment.. yes always blurring that line between tender and terrible.. and I love it

'the physical manifestation of your adoration' that line has a way of echoing through the rest of the verses...cause I think under that surface layer of violence, it all comes back to that idea. That second verse has this claustrophobic feel to it, I think it's the line 'hot water and steam', but that feeling opens out in to this sense of air and freedom in that final verse, when the water truns cold...It's bittersweet, but it's fucking beautiful.

its interesting to see what stands out and what moves differently for different people in each of my poems.. like the line you mentioned echoing through the rest of the poem.. or the claustrophobic effect of the hot water vs the freeing sense of the cold.. that's why feedback is so important and appreciated otherwise I wouldn't know how or why I effect people.. thank you xo

as priya (raindreams) often comments I mix the good and bad.. the tender and terrible.. the soft and vicious.. I guess I like the technique because I use it a lot.. like you saw the lust and death.. which as I've told you are both constantly on my mind and inspire so much of my work
