Nightmares

This very night
I wake with horrible fright
Trying to stop my heart from taking flight

I awake you see
From something I could never wish opon thee
Heartbreaking and body shaking it scares me

Im there iside my head
Nothing there but a small piece of thread
Its laying on a very small I see something I dread

One drop of blood so red
Then I see your body laying dead
I look away from the bed

The woman I looked up to
The only one who cared
The only woman who ever even dared

She knew the real me
The one so closed inside
She could get through when no one ever tried

My heart breaks
My mind aches
And my breathing stops

How can this be real?
May i surely survive this deal?
Your soul those demons will steal

I cry out your name
Sadly my auntie it is in vain
Now my screaming sobs arent contained

I jolt awake
Thinking no this must be a mistake
But life is no piece of cake

Death happens to the best of us
And eventually some even discuss
When the world will undo them

My breathing slows
But my fear still grows
I force myself to go

I try to get that picture of you out of my head
Just the memory of seeing you dead and cold
It tears at my soul...

I cant do it you know?
Forget how you used to hold
So now Im sinking to a new low

The blade has a grip
And I let it slip down the skin
The release of the blood as i let it drip

Im done here
There's no more fear
Just my death is finally near..

Till this nightmare ends
This blade will never bend...
