From Sand to Glass
It was struck hard
It was struck low
Blow after Blow
It shattered
It splintered
It crumpled within
Hidden behind
A trembling grin
It withered
It rusted
It was ground
Into sand
Carried afar
In a deserted land
Then gathered
Once more
Piled up high
Thrown into the furnace
Smiles gave way
Becoming a cry
There was a beg
A plead
A cry for the end
Knees hit the ground
No longer able to pretend
The remainder
The sand –
Blended
Melted
Turned red hot
The ghost of its beating
Little longer forgot
Tear blurred eyes
Fully consumed
The inferno
Grew bright
The heat molded anew
Fire hid
The upcoming debut
The pieces all melted
Impure burnt away
Now held together
Pain was the way
Mold
Set out
Only whimpers remain
Sunk into ice
Then tempering came
Smoothed
Polished
The rough
Made to shine
Cool to the touch
A glass heart divine
A prism
A beauty
Made from the pain
A mirror to the world
Her dreams reclaimed
It was struck low
Blow after Blow
It shattered
It splintered
It crumpled within
Hidden behind
A trembling grin
It withered
It rusted
It was ground
Into sand
Carried afar
