The Light of Your Day
Out of place, and slowly dying
Like a rose upon the shoreline lying
Soaked by waves of darkness in my past
Beneath the stars of heaven's light
Your dawn of beauty out of sight
A vision of a sky so blue and vast
To once have comfort kept in thought
To once by your soft hand be caught
Life in your bright beams was all I asked
So long your sparks of sun had glowed
Our fearful hidden hearts had showed
The tide of your bright day could never last
As dusk approached my tilted head
My dreams were torn as I was led
Drenched in black, and to the sea was cast
Like a rose upon the shoreline lying
Soaked by waves of darkness in my past
Beneath the stars of heaven's light
Your dawn of beauty out of sight
A vision of a sky so blue and vast
To once have comfort kept in thought
To once by your soft hand be caught
Life in your bright beams was all I asked
So long your sparks of sun had glowed
Our fearful hidden hearts had showed
The tide of your bright day could never last
As dusk approached my tilted head
My dreams were torn as I was led
Drenched in black, and to the sea was cast
