Pat the rat

For anyone that's never met the guy, please beware !
And when he looks at you with that innocent looking stare
You need to realise whats really behind those eyes
Deceipt, dishonour and at least a million lies
The lies hes perfected, it really sounds like the truth
But it comes from a mouth without hardly a tooth
Opiates have been his life for many a year
Then on top of that theres plenty of beer
He is your best friend while you have money in the bank
And when your not there, he's on the phone and quite frank
"are you coming over and are you wanting today" ?
Not even a hello, thats the first thing he would say
Now he's got you where he wants you, what a place to be in
And you see a guy in the mirror and he's starting to look thin
Now your caught in that trap and why doesnt he phone ?
Cos he knows u'll call him while your on your way home
"can you get right now" is the first thing i would say
And realise i too need a shot to get through the day
I cant beleive im doing this, all this money it's wastefull
You would expect to start this, especially with your wives uncle !
Yes Pat the rat is'nt just someone from the street
He's the one in the family you would never want to meet
But we make our own decisions and him i dont blame
It's me, i'm  the one who should put my head down in shame
We make our own choices and for that i have paid
And i still cant beleive its my family i betrayed
Now all by myself because of the things that i chose
And soon it will be my marriage thats going to forclose
And trying to say sorry, i just don't get the chance
If i knew then what i know now i would have said it in advance
So now i'll sign off with just one last thing to say
