Childhood innocence

Happy, happy days,
Pink rainbows, dancing faeries.
Small, plastic jewellery
Stapled upon plastic people.
Smiling... ever smiling,
Smiling through the punishment,
Bleached blonde hair
Painted eyes.
Assorted rows of stuffed toys,
Glassy orbs and delicate thread
Fixed smiles.
“Fluffy!”
“Ginger!”
“Princess!”
Small little child.
Make your minions dance!

Dancing in the chains of their denial.
