Love at a Distance
It's been too long since we've lain
Beneath the blanket of night, dotted with millions of stars
Holding you close after so long.
But our meeting is short lived
For you must leave me
To be miles afar,
Only to meet for a single summer's night.
But despite our distance we hold true to each other's faith
Our hearts intertwined,
Connected by the miles of telephone line that stretches between us.
Tied like the endless sky we lie beneath
Stars aligned above us like maps to each other's arms
Everlasting light, burning bright
Like our love
That knows no bound.
