morning
Such novel thoughts
As I pushed your hair from in front of your eyes
To read your fragile gaze while we fall into bed
Moon lit beams shine on our interlocked hands
Counting the freckles on my shoulder
I could lay here forever
Humming you to sleep
Adjusting the blankets to make sure to rest comfortably
So fondly I feel for your soul
Morning comes and you’re so quick to undress me
I was hoping to undress your mind before
Expecting to hear you dreamt of us
I know I did ~
In fields of flowers intertwining hearts
Let me be the one your brain can’t shut off in a doze
But you reached for my body first
And ignored my delicate needs
So easy for you to be intimate
While being so afraid of intimacy
I can feel your energy pulling away
From blue vibrations into grey skies
And that’s when I realized
I saw so much light inside of you
Before I realized there were no longer stars
Beneath you as sweat falls on my cheek
You feel nothing unless you’re inside of me
I should grab my things and go
Save myself the time
But you’ll still call me in the evening
As the sun settles and you smell me on your shirt
I’ll try not to answer
Though, I know I’ll see you tomorrow
And say nothing
As we tie tongues and drink to ignore the obvious
Holding back my tears while nestled in your chest
I’ll feel everything in the morning
And think to myself-
How deeply I wanted to fall in love with you…
As I pushed your hair from in front of your eyes
To read your fragile gaze while we fall into bed
