Image for the poem run from the sorrow that keens

run from the sorrow that keens

escape me my heart
run from my soul, depart
landscapes of sorrow my only offering

kindred with sadness
melancholy wanders here
alone with a handful of memories
that echo with the dawn

disappearing inside her book of dreams
keeping me from mine sweetheart
languish no more in the dark
step into the light of understanding

these are wasted landscapes
a void not to be comprehended
silently I make my way through
with clouds of doubt blocking my view

rage stumbles my steps and I go tumbling
falling into despair
marrow of my marrow is this feeling keening

don't get lost in me, my heart
secluded love breaking the isolation
providing another mirage for me to chase down
