Acceptance, please
Because I could never ask you to wait
I let our love go astray
I tried to make it work any other way
I gave it all so that you could stay
But because I could never ask you to wait
It began to hurt the longer you stayed
Things weren’t the same, and we couldn’t make it work that way, nothing to explain
Silence and distance became familiar
The last time we truly talked was September
But doesn’t mean I won’t always remember
The nights and days, we grew and we withered
I only miss her, wondering how we differ
Or if because we couldn’t stay the same
Because I could never ask you to wait
You thought my love wasn’t the same
I let our love go astray
I tried to make it work any other way
I gave it all so that you could stay
But because I could never ask you to wait
It began to hurt the longer you stayed
Things weren’t the same, and we couldn’t make it work that way, nothing to explain
Silence and distance became familiar
The last time we truly talked was September
But doesn’t mean I won’t always remember
The nights and days, we grew and we withered
I only miss her, wondering how we differ
Or if because we couldn’t stay the same
Because I could never ask you to wait
You thought my love wasn’t the same
