Image for the poem If Only Then

If Only Then

Confined space, a sickly voice, scared of the common cold.
Gentle breeze, concrete weathered seats, friendship bloomed.
Always there, innate leader, when days were slow.
The whisper in the wind carried her distinct perfume.
Radiant, painted canvas, untouched jovial soul.
And though I've wondered, what could've been,
If our paths had crossed way back then,
Yet, it's not here nor there,
For she was a friend to me,
During troubled times, from that dark place.
Her memory is all I'll remember and see.
