In this charade of life
saving the last breath
for fools
in their capsule of death
with no metamorphosis
to fall back on
for a fool lives in a shell
of their home-made hell
feverishly fretting
lying in suspicious watchfulness
for an ounce of kindness
to be found in their version
of an unkind world
