Burn Barrel

A lifetime of memories      
My trash all gathered      
Searching for remedies      
To heal dreams shattered      
Gasoline is doused      
To erase my past      
A future without      
Is a future that lasts      
Light the matches      
And smell the sulfur      
Reality detaches      
The pain I suffered      
A quick explosion      
Engulfed in flames      
My mental erosion      
Left me ashamed      
Burn her pictures      
And her apparel      
Praying for scripture      
From this burn barrel      
Burn my memories      
Burn them down      
Burn her body      
Til her memory drowns      
In a sea of ash  
Returned to earth      
Her chains unlatched      
For my rebirth
