The Doomsday Clock

Time once thought was infinite  
Now only seconds from midnight  
Lifes design rather intricate    
A story we can not rewrite  
Everything's taken for granted  
Approaching castrophic destruction  
Reaping the seeds we planted  
Feeding the greed of corruption  
   
Global challenges like climate change  
Warned by atomic scientists    
Common sense is now estranged    
As existential threats exist  
Lies spread and government dissension  
Narratives to keep us suppressed    
Global threats of nuclear tension  
Chaos brewing this social unrest  
   
The need for action is immediate  
Trapped in this perilous situation  
Our past we must remediate    
And plan the futures mitigation  
The doomsday clock's unforgiving  
And time is quickly running out  
We must slow down how we're living  
Beyond the shadows of our doubt
