Judas
If regret is hell, then
what would mine be?
A shadowed pit where
I let my dreams die,
A barren land of awful things said,
Silent screams and words
left unread.
A footnote once buried in
sacred text,
Twisted, corrupted, made
to perplex.
How did it turn to chains,
to control,
To shape our thoughts and steal
our soul?
The knowledge they hid, the truth
they erased,
A secret to set us free,
they sealed it in haste.
What power lies hidden, what lies
have they spun?
To sell us a life that can never be won.
We shout for free will,
yet we’re bound by the same,
Speaking their words, playing
their game.
The rich laugh while choking
on greed,
As the world sways in their evil creed.
Politicians lie, celebrities preach,
Feeding us vices, their
voices they reach.
Sex, money, fame—buying our bliss,
In truth, they’re selling a Judas kiss.
The screens are breaking
—can’t you see?
The veil is lifting,
you’re waking up free.
Work, grind, hustle—forget to live,
Your children growing up as you
grow old.
You miss the moments that mean the most,
The simple joys you once
loved to boast.
The bird outside, the stranger’s smile,
The fleeting beauty of life for a while.
We focus on hate,
on lust, on disdain,
On everything broken on all
of the pain.
But in doing so, we forget
what is true—
We forget to live, to see the
world through God’s lens.
If regret is hell, then tell me
what would your hell look like?
what would mine be?
A shadowed pit where
I let my dreams die,
A barren land of awful things said,
Silent screams and words
left unread.
