False Dawn

.
Is this salvation, or another game?
A fire untamed, a voice unnamed.

I see it now, the golden light,
A fire burning through the night.
It calls my name, it speaks my truth,
A fragile promise, a reckless youth.
It lifts me high, it holds me near,
A fleeting love that hides the fear.

It feels like freedom, it feels divine,
A rushing flood, a crooked sign.
But every step, I lose my ground,
A tethered soul, forever bound.
It sings so sweet, it burns so bright,
But it’s just another endless night.

Is this salvation, or another game?
A fire untamed, a voice unnamed.

It fills my veins, it drowns my doubt,
A storm within, a world without.
It’s chaos wrapped in velvet threads,
A broken hymn that never ends.
I thought it saved me, thought I was free,
But now I see it’s devouring me.

A fleeting high, a poisoned breath,
A gilded mask that hides my death.
Is this salvation, or another game?
A fire untamed, a voice unnamed.

It feels like freedom, it feels divine,
A rushing flood, a crooked sign.
But every step, I lose my ground,
A tethered soul, forever bound.
It sings so sweet, it burns so bright,
But it’s just another endless night.

It pulls, it tears, it makes me whole,
An endless hunger that claims my soul.
I thought I’d left the dark behind,
But this is a madness of another kind.
The light, the warmth, the fleeting flame—
It’s all the same, it’s all the same.

Is this salvation, or another game?
A fire untamed, a voice unnamed.

It feels like freedom, it feels divine,
But it’s a pyre I’ve called mine.
The brighter it burns, the deeper I fall,
A hollow high that consumes it all.
It sings so sweet, it burns so bright,
But it’s just another endless night.

The light was a lie, the dawn a ruse,
A softer chain I couldn’t refuse.
I ran from the void, I fled the pain,
But found another god to reign.
