you left me
You smoked from the bong
That blurred the lines
And numbed the ache
That they left within you.
The lingering memories
You couldn't help but remember
Somehow always overrode
The memories we made
While trying to fix you.
So confined in the lucid
You infused your body with intoxications
Always ignoring
My weeping sorrow
You left me
Trying to recollect your being in my head
Whispering to your ghost
“Why do I have to remember?”
That blurred the lines
And numbed the ache
That they left within you.
The lingering memories
You couldn't help but remember
Somehow always overrode
The memories we made
While trying to fix you.
So confined in the lucid
You infused your body with intoxications
Always ignoring
My weeping sorrow
You left me
Trying to recollect your being in my head
Whispering to your ghost
“Why do I have to remember?”
