Fasting from Your Love

Fasting from your love—
The addiction that consumes my mind,
A fire that burns, leaving reason behind.
I’m desperate to purge you from my soul,
But our bond runs deeper, beyond control.

Our souls are bound, down to the nucleus,
A connection so pure, so ruinous.
To break us apart would shatter the skies,
An atomic ripple where the universe cries.

I’m a prisoner of my own fragile mind,
Padded walls meant to protect, yet confined.
But even here, the stabs still find my heart,
As darkness whispers, tearing me apart.

This reality, one I must purge of you,
But how do you erase a love so true?
Tears cleanse the soul, or so they say,
Yet this tidal wave drowns me every day.

I’m sinking fast—I cannot swim,
My lifeboat broken, its chances slim.
A hole the size of a black hole’s maw,
Pulling me under with every flaw.

Fasting from your love means fasting from me,
A shadow of who I was meant to be.
For you are my essence, my heart’s insistence,
Without you, I’m fasting from my own existence.
