In the shadow of mountains high        
Lies a place where my dreams die        
A barren land where hopes unravel        
This journey I take, a mournful travel        
       
Ambitions fade, now whispers in the wind    
Visions once bright, have come to an end        
Footsteps stumble on paths once clear        
This valley of death I'm wandering near        
       
Promises made I never kept        
Tears of regret I silently wept        
A tapestry of lost aspirations        
Leveled by my lifes limitations        
       
In the grasp of failures embrace        
Once hopeful dreams, nightmares replaced        
My skeletons live here, so it seems
