Image for the poem The loch of repose

The loch of repose

Pricked an old wound
The soft scar of woe
The revel is bleak
Blade softly in tow

Ebb splays my value
Regressed shadows sprawl
Tears wick the venue
As stiff whispers drawl

As calm as a tempest
As smooth as a wave
Say something of nothing
In which dour forbade

Wherefore does it settle
In the loch of repose
Where time is disparaged
And bones decompose
