Obsession or Devotion (is there a difference?)
I see love as an intense devotion
getting down on my knees and exclaiming:
"PLEASE KEEP ME."
With such desperation,
Like a dog begging for its last meal.
Pitiful, really.
It is so hard to picture myself as anything desired,
that my imagination can only conjure a place
where I am pleading for tolerance of my presence.
If I am to be starry-eyed
and endlessly devoted,
I pray it is for someone who deserves it.
