Shadows of the Mind
Hidden and covered
New lands discovered
In the shadows of my mind
The secrets I've kept
My thoughts have wept
Struggling searching to find
Knowledge or memories
Anything familiar to me
To remind me who I am
To help me communicate
Refresh or illuminate
Failing this mental exam
My mind has slipped
My life it's stripped
Of every moment I've enjoyed
While cloudiness replaced
A flavor of distaste
I'm agitated and annoyed
My forgotten recollection
Imbalanced imperfection
I'm empty and abstractly blind
This sickness has cost
Thoughts shuffled and lost
In the shadows of my mind
New lands discovered
In the shadows of my mind
The secrets I've kept
My thoughts have wept
Struggling searching to find
Knowledge or memories
Anything familiar to me
To remind me who I am
To help me communicate
Refresh or illuminate
Failing this mental exam
My mind has slipped
My life it's stripped
Of every moment I've enjoyed
While cloudiness replaced
A flavor of distaste
I'm agitated and annoyed
My forgotten recollection
Imbalanced imperfection
I'm empty and abstractly blind
This sickness has cost
Thoughts shuffled and lost
In the shadows of my mind
