Obsession

Lust bastes the heart  
with risqué aromatics
lining the muscle  
with a longing  
that lingers
Textured,
decadent, (mocking)
 
Wicked belonging
 
Evacuating the mind of all that matters
to fill the void with a flawless fancy  
that sparkles the eye
The highs of peerless desire
The rust of disjointed bliss
 
Singing a duet all alone
 
Feathering the rind with a tone that flatters
To line the cavity with these synthetic ruminations  
A relationship upheld in the mind
raw and salacious
Though you are unaware
 
One-sided love
 
I’ve undressed you a thousand times in my mind
Ran my fingers through your flair
I’ve walked the sands of ponder
tread isles hand in hand
but
 
You’re blurry in my perception
 
I cannot sensate in the solitary
I need your breath to complete me
To deplete me of this emptiness that is creeping
But you’ll never sit with me  
 
I’m weeping
 
Thus I will gather stones
and place them
beneath us
until the foundation is built
strengthening the silt
that mires me  
in these unchaperoned musings
