Dreamscapes Out of Consciousness
Shadowed realms where dreams distort
He wanders through a twisted court
A place where reason fades away
And sanity begins to fray
The skies above are never still
They twist and churn, a hungry will
While fractured moons drift high and low
Casting light that doesn't glow
In these dreamscapes, cold and vast
A presence lingers, slow, steadfast
It pads behind him, soft and sly
Unnamed thing with gleaming eye
Rotted fur an endless night,
Its form a whisper just in sight
A creature that defies all sound
But leaves its mark upon the ground
He feels it near, his pulse now quick
Fetid breath a warmth that makes him sick
No matter where he dares to flee
Fanged shades are all he sees
Its gaze, twin embers burning deep
Invades his waking hours of sleep
A hunter from the edge of mind
A predator no man can bind
Through mazes built of fractured thought
Through endless loops that twist to naught
It stalks him, patient, never rushed
Its hunger cold, its purring hushed
Each step he takes, it mirrors close
Twisted shadow, dark, morose
Its eyes reflect his deepest fears
Its growl is all the pain he hears
In dreams he runs, in dreams he hides
But still the creature prowls, abides
It slips through cracks in reason’s keep
It haunts the spaces in his sleep
Though he wakes, the dream remains
A lingering chill within his veins
Felinid bones always there
A nightmare born of his despair
What does it want? He does not know
Its purring sets his blood to slow
A stalker from a world unspoken
A silent curse, a dream unbroken
He wanders through a twisted court
A place where reason fades away
And sanity begins to fray
The skies above are never still
They twist and churn, a hungry will
While fractured moons drift high and low
Casting light that doesn't glow
