not all damsels have to be in distress

'You might have just enough for nothing' said the fisherman
who'd spent his entire day teaching
his young man to fish
to the farm girl
who'd spent her days teaching
her father's cats to catch mice
before she even knew what death was when it was born.

The next day
the fisherman lost his fish and
the girl
no longer tied to the farm due to her meeting with death when it was dead
knew that cats with nothing to protect had
no need to catch new mice all day
not even for sport.

They had nothing to prove anymore
and nothing was just how much they had enough for.
