Do you ever wonder why
Repeatedly that final night
I whimpered out your name
into the darkened space
twixt you & I
Grasping for your presence?
I needed you to fill me
feared, then, that you were leaving
for the final time…
Leaving me empty
Reaching in the darkness for your touch
Even now, I cry out your name
And dream you’re still here
Filling me again
