Peck On Somebody Your Own Size

Out of all the birds I love to sit and observe, doves are my favorite.
One day a dove perched itself on an electric line above my head, as I'm sitting there talking to it like it completely understands what I'm saying, a hawk swooped in from out of nowhere and clutched the bird in its beak, I screamed in horror, nooo!!
I mean, I get it, the food chain...blah blah blah.
But what the crap?
I learned a valuable lesson that day.
Don't distract the natural flow of nature, doves were not meant to chat with humans, no matter if they cooed in return to your every word towards them or not...let them be.
And hawks are just stupid!
Although if I could speak to the hawk I'd tell him there are plenty of other pecker heads out there you could eat, why the dove who has only ever spoken softly?
Just saying...
