Faking It
They say fake it
Until you make it
So that's what I try to do
I tell myself things
That seem like lies to me
Is it just in my head?
Am I imagining things
When I look in the mirror?
I see stuff that's not there
And don't see the things that are
You said that
You've been through it
That you once felt the same
And that lying to yourself
Is just the best way
So if I repeat to myself
That I'm beautiful
Just the way I am
Will I ever believe it
Just like you say?
Until you make it

Everyday can distort our perception of ourselves. Mainly because the world feeds us false narratives. You have to learn to get along with yourself. At least in my personal experience. I'm still learning to like myself, and making progress. Sorry, for the rambling, what I'm trying to say is this. Our flaws and quirks are what make us beautiful, in my honest opinion. Makes us one of a kind, and that is what you are. Great write. Thanks for sharing. Appreciate you.
