Nirvana

It isn't much

no sounding alarms
aiding my bones
to rise up

the kettle boils,
I step outside into
the garden letting
everything unfold,

if there is a nirvana
it sounds like birdsong

as I close my eyes
inhaling through
my nose,

it looks like the
breaking of a
new day

as song thrush
bares witness to
tears meeting
my beige
patio

it was the most
peaceful song
I have ever
heard.
