Little Guy On My Shoulder
Little Guy on my shoulder
You’re good at skewing my perspective
Your insecurities transfer to me
So emotionally, I’m insane.
A sliver of glee cannot last
You always get in the way
To remind me of my forbidden lover
With you I must stay.
Never have you been physical
But in your presence I’m terrified
To hear the crude words you speak
Proves a level of toxicity.
I can’t help but ponder
“How do you speak to kin?”
“Do you call them a bitch, too?”
No, I bet you don’t even yell at them.
I know you probably got tired
My nagging was annoying
I just wish I made this prediction sooner
I suppose our creation was for naught.
You’re good at skewing my perspective
Your insecurities transfer to me
So emotionally, I’m insane.
A sliver of glee cannot last
You always get in the way
To remind me of my forbidden lover
With you I must stay.
Never have you been physical

To hear the crude words you speak
