Four Days From Forever

If yesterday is always Monday eve
Endlessly talking on the telephone
If time stood still; who would ever believe?
23 years since, and yet I’m alone

If tomorrow was just Saturday morn
Our forever would begin at sunset
A beautiful dress your eyes would adorn
23 years young; four days I regret

If today promised of another day
Finding myself in the 46th year
Two lifetimes now; though I’m doing okay
“I'll never be the same without you here”

Ironically, today is today
Forever…always is four days away
