The Crawl
it is eerie in here
creepy and alone
i'm cold as bone
dark surrounds
me swallows me
whole, eats me
from the inside
i'm on all fours
on your floor it's
too broke to fix
you're no longer
around left me to
bleed left me to
die at your feet
you watched me
fading and falling
crumble and crawl
into a deep dark hole
creepy and alone
i'm cold as bone
dark surrounds
me swallows me
whole, eats me
from the inside
i'm on all fours
on your floor it's
too broke to fix
you're no longer
around left me to
bleed left me to
die at your feet
you watched me
fading and falling
crumble and crawl
into a deep dark hole

Yes, I've shred myself from it. This was a series about old wounds, inspired by songs from Placebo. Their sound is dark and alienated so it was screaming for something dark.

I’m grateful to be reading this series. I admire the work you’re doing.
Childhood trauma often makes it impossible to express the emotions we felt then, even as adults, but you’ve done it perfectly.
Holding you in thought, D.

Dear D,
You capture these feelings of isolation, fear and loneliness in such amazing ways. This reads almost like Morse code to me which makes it all the more intense. Great writing. H🌷

They wreak havoc on us & leave us to make sense of the catastrophic damage. They're gone. Which is a gift...without them continuing to slash gashes into our psyche, we can heal. Slowly & agonizingly. Little sister, you touch raw nerves & remind us we're not alone

They do. The healing is mostly behind me, though it sometimes comes back in waves. So grateful my poems are reminders others are not alone. I think that's the beauty of poetry.
Thanks heaps for your words and thoughts, big sister 💕
