Aphrodite of Coffee
Aphrodite of Coffee
Statuesque Aphrodite
Awash in sunbeams
Stands a hand’s breadth from my face
Bearing brew made of coffee beans
Her lips a cherry blossom in spring
I gaze into her eyes like a thirsty supplicant
At the altar of the Goddess
My gratitude expressed with deep resonance
Her “My pleasure” echoes in my heart chambers
As a warm sunray penetrates the cotton
Aimed by Helios
At the delta of her purple shorts
She pivots like a ballerina
Mere inches from my beseeching eyes
With her derriere posed
Like an Elgin marble
Sculpted to grace the Parthenon
For my antiquarian gaze
And she descends the patio stairs
Like Daphne under my Apollonian gaze
Until her form melts through the door
And the eddies of her womanhood
Sing in my soul
Statuesque Aphrodite
Awash in sunbeams
Stands a hand’s breadth from my face
Bearing brew made of coffee beans
Her lips a cherry blossom in spring
I gaze into her eyes like a thirsty supplicant
At the altar of the Goddess
My gratitude expressed with deep resonance
Her “My pleasure” echoes in my heart chambers
As a warm sunray penetrates the cotton
Aimed by Helios
At the delta of her purple shorts
She pivots like a ballerina
Mere inches from my beseeching eyes
With her derriere posed
Like an Elgin marble
Sculpted to grace the Parthenon
For my antiquarian gaze
And she descends the patio stairs
Like Daphne under my Apollonian gaze
Until her form melts through the door
And the eddies of her womanhood
Sing in my soul
