How Last Night Was Spent

I re-read all our conversations
We have had late last night..
Some were delightful, sweet and touching.
They made me smile to myself.
Some were full of pain-
All the pain similarities we shared.
They made me stop and think about
Our lives.. Some, they were
Extremely terrifing.. I was afraid I
Was going to lose you, someone
Who has been so close to me,
Like my long lost twin brother...
Those made me weep to myself..
And others were random, funny, cute,
And childish. Those made me laugh.
When I had finished..
It was very late, but I did not invite sleep.
Instead, I looked to the moon,
And let you run into my
Mind once more..
I wished for you to be happy,
For there to be no struggles
In your life..
I wished for your happiness and
Nothing but happiness..
Then I began to wonder..
If I ever happened to re-appear
In your memories, like
When you can't find something,
And when someone else looks,
It's magically there...
I wondered if my voice ever chanced
To reach you, or if you
Thought of the things I have told you
To help cheer you up on your
Down days.. My heart aches for you.
I miss you dearly. I do hope all will
Be well for you. I hope that one day..
Maybe someday, I'll know that you're
Doing more than alright, and if
I happened to cross your mind..
Finally with a sigh,
I called to darkness to rise
Up and take me down to sleep...
But that's how last night was spent.
