Knight of Death

They venture into the night
Where silence vibrates the dark
The knights battle and fight
Thunder rumbled, lightning sparked
With ball and chain they clash
And deadly sculpted swords
Shattered shields will crash
Whipping metal deadly cord
The last two gladiators known
Hands sweating, blood dripping
Fighting to death for the throne
Like thorns of rose flesh splitting
As the morning star strikes the head
A fallen warrior motionless lies there
In a puddle of blood he's now dead
And emptiness consumed the thickened air
A man rushes out of the woods
And the knight freezes in time
Screaming terror not yet understood
Was this lunatic out of his mind
The night illuminates without warning
And dozens and dozens run away
Heat now engulfs the forest burning
The knight now standing in its way
The dragons claws slash, teeth gnash
And his tail whipped quick to kick him
In a flash the knight turned to ash
He became the dragons next victim
The night is now on fire
And the battlefield defaced
Victory spoiled by what transpired
The dragon breathed hell in this place
The man has now crossed the edge
And the flames he tries to reshape
Quickly lifting up the drawbridge
He escapes without a scrape
Seeking shelter now for protection
Safely hidden in a land he's never known
What happens next his introspection
In this kingdom he's all alone
A king with no kingdom to call home
His old castle burned to the ground
Will he sit on this kindoms throne
Since neither king here is around
This kingdom and its people were enemies
But everywhere else is destroyed
Join forces to kill the dragon beasts
And live like this forever paranoid
