A friend and a foe

Hello old friend we need to talk about the good times and the bad.
When our love was strong you kept me safe me through all the pain I had.
When i was hurt and sad the more you got involved.
The more we were together our bond did grow and that is when we evolved.
You confused me with lust and lies, I did not want to live with out you.
So many walls around my heart you wouldn't let anyone get threw.
I blindly burnt down bridges gasoline and matches in my hand.
Life time bonds crash at at my feet, in the past I could not understand.
I have had some time away from you, clear headed I see my destructive past.
So many friends and family torn down and hurt in the after math.
I can't continue to destroy my life so this means goodbye.
