Image for the poem If we were still children

If we were still children

If The Mountains Were Cubic Forms
If the rivers were flowing
If the mountains were calling
If the breeze was blowing
It's because we were the children
*****

If the flowers used to give perfume
And on the vernal hills used to bloom
And if the birds used to sing in tune
Its because we were the children
*****

Because we are no longer young
And we forget a childhood's song
And because all looks like wrong
It's because we are no longer children
*****

So back to nature where we belong
If we want hear a birds tuned song
Back to mountains's faithful echo
To smell the breeze, and winds' blow
*****

We feel desperate between concrete
And the cubic shapes are only our limit
Our voices nothing ever shall repeat
Days like winter clouds pass and fleet
*****

If we go back to see the mountain
We will then play like those children
We will break the cement barriers
We will see the truth plain and clear
*****

If the rivers stopped to run
And we did not enjoy the fun
If the mountains were cubic forms
We would be already eaten by worms
