Letters unsent
My dearest M ~
she has tried to write you
so many love letters
since you departed
from this realm
leaving her with ghostly midnight wanderings
under a full moon
hoping to see your shadow
tall in the high light
capturing you dancing
gracefully among the trees
while she sings, "one way or another I'm gonna find ya
I'm gonna get ya get ya get ya
one way or another ..."
how she blew you away with
her Blondie impersonation
how she would give anything
to see you smile and laugh
with your head in the clouds
filled with the wonder of love
where you rest your head
in so much marshmallow softness
playing in the realm of the sky
was it no surprise that
she called you "Sky Man?"
was it premonition on her part
that you would soon
be departing?
her shining star
dangling sparkling among all the beauty
of stars
where you dance with the Moon
your song melodic and comforting
her still
even from such great distance
her Poetic prowess
lost it's voice for a time
so much to say
sometimes words seem so useless
they got caught in the tightness
of grief
which overwhelms at
strangest moments
in all of it
there's really only one
thing to say
"Thank you for loving me."
