Strings

You might be thinking of
puppets on a string
but the thing about strings
they're everywhere
lines of energy
connecting us to the world
.
Binding us to people we love
and the morons we hate
connecting us by our emotions
whether we like it or not
.
I for one would never give up
the strings that tie me to you
and heaven knows how hard it is
to give up hate in our hearts
.
But it's not just people
we are connected to life itself
a trees' love affair with the sun
is an undeniable string
.
Growing in deep soil
a tree has strings to the earth
giving us nutrient rich food
fruit and nuts and seeds
.
The energy of what we eat
binds us to the tree
ties us to the soil
connects us to the sun
.
We are tied to so many things
our strings are everywhere
so walk barefoot in the sun
or lean against a tree
eating the fruit a tree provides

Now we've come full circle
our strings are a ball of yarn
and the ball of yarn is the earth
the earth is more than soil but energy
.
I am tied to you with love
through you I am tied
to the strings tied to you
so on and so forth
growing exponentially
.
until
we are connected to everyone
and everything on earth
