 Guinevere


In the blue grey dark of the room she steps                                                  
naked to the window                                                                                  
the cold air hugs her like an embrace                                                          
so tight.                                                                                                  

Dark fields below, beyond.                                                                      
And high above, the chill moon's sparkle slants in across her cheek          
  like a kiss.                                                                                            

And the dark fields below, beyond, where he, her lover now become            
  will come                                                                                            
  and hold, Oh! hold her in his strong embrace so tight.                        

Tight as the cold air in the blue grey night.                                                  

And on her cheek his kiss, like perhaps the chill moon's sparkle.
