Kingfisher

Taunting, cloaked in conspicuous iridescence,
Kings don’t hide, they pomp and flaunt.
Jet flight, in silence, takes my breath,
Bullet with butterfly wings, beauty dealing out death.

Your majesty does not flit and bob,
Arrow straight, the river highway,
A shiny jewel against the mud scape,
Inimitable, imperious, awesome.
