Of uncertainty
Body tense ,
Adrenaline
Flowing freely through your veins
Hands clammy , hot
Sweat on you brow
Heart feeling shot
Sending you
Internal text messages
That lodge deep within
That nagging feeling
Vague but persistent
Like a drum beat
Slow to random
You know it’s
There telling you
To run


This doesn’t
Feel right
Better the devil you know
You been acquaintances
For years
But have you truly felt
Raw , giving your all
Exposed
And deep diving
Amongst the sharks
Taking your chance
Risking your desert island
In the middle of nowhere
Neither here or there but
every inch know and lived
in purgatory .
To throw yourself
Into the unknown
