As the wearing goes for broke
an octogenarian patched denim
the precursor to dreams, I wear
deep obsidian thinker blue
neath moon's dark cold franchise
and the sweeper of age spots
of imagination and metaphors
as shadow's tattoo comes to you
a residue of the mind's creation
clabbering the twilight sky

one night, a thousand years
