Open prayers on empty chairs

Empty train

bag pinned
to the floor,

making space
beside my body
for your arrival

because tonight
feels more like loss
covered in gritted
teeth and tears.

Took myself
toward the sea

gazed at the way
she will consume
her own terror
and grief,

this is where
some of us
are living

dying to
hold palms
so familiar
they will
burn us,

once
again.
