Why have you recoiled
Withdrawn the passionate embrace
We both desire?
Did the ache destroy?
Did the longing break your spirit?
The heart-waves of your love
These final remnants
Ghost whisperings of your voice
That fill my lungs with living breath
Have evaporated from my senses today
I gasp for reverberations of your memory
Here, in my now
Tonight I’m drowning
Lonely for you
My oxygen
